I was traveling solo but really wanted to do some alpine climbing around Almaty, so I reached out to Katya, who then organized a 3 day trip with Tatiana as my guide. Having a female guide was really cool and she also really personalized the trip to what I wanted to do. We ended up spending the first day training and doing 2 peaks the next two days. This trip was more than just peak climbing for me, I learned soooo much and had a really good time! Everything was well organized, I didn't have to worry about anything and could just enjoy, 10 out of 10 for me.

We had a brilliant 6 day trip with Katya in Ala Archa, Kyrgyzstan.
The week struck a great balance between learning new skills, but also getting the opportunity to climb some great peaks.
Katya was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient.

Honestly didn't know what to expect from Kazakhstan but Silk Road Guiding made it one of the best trips we've taken. Our guide's English was excellent and his knowledge of the area went way beyond the usual tourist script — history, geology, local culture, he had it all covered without it feeling like a lecture.
What really stood out were the places he took us that we'd never have found on our own. Hidden viewpoints, a local spot for food that wasn't in any guidebook — the kind of things that make a trip memorable rather than just pretty photos.
We had a couple of special requests going in and both were handled without any drama. The whole itinerary was well thought out, nothing felt rushed or padded.
For what you get — private transport, quality accommodation, and a genuinely great guide — the price is more than fair. Already recommending them to everyone planning a Central Asia trip.
